Hi everybody knife I made a few years ago from apple tree from grand parents farm orchard really hard wood to carve blade from old file that i made with both sides sharpened that make the knife versatile I like to experiment with blade and handle shapes Luc

Question ? What is the biggest difference working with applewod versus let's say maple?

Hi Ned by my small experience carving a few kinds of wood the apple wood is harder to carve than maple in my opinion apple wood seems more dense and the wood grain as no tendency to chip or run off with a sharp tool here is a small candy bowl i made with the same piece of wood as the knife I left all knives marks so as to look primitive and you can see all the small knife marks and how tiny the wood chips were and you can see no run off or chips ether way the wood chips were cut Luc
